The Sales and Event Items screen controls how your event sells hands, collects payments, manages extra cards, enables Will Call, and determines who pays processing fees.

πŸ€” How Do I Decide Which Sales Method to Use?

Choosing the right sales method depends on how you want to collect payments and manage registrations.


πŸ“± Choose In-App Sales (Recommended) if:

  • You want payments fully automated

  • You want funds deposited directly into your bank account

  • You want most participants registered before event day

  • You want fewer lines and faster check-in

  • You want real-time results and streamlined reporting

Participants purchase hands directly in the app. Stripe processes payments securely, and funds are deposited directly into your connected bank account.

πŸ‘‰ This is the best option for most events.


🧍 Choose In-Person Sales if:

  • You want to collect cash or checks at the event

  • You use another ticketing platform

  • You prefer to manually manage payments

  • You need to distribute hands using the Manage Hands feature

Participants can still register in the app, but payments are collected outside of Aces.

πŸ’‘ Recommended: Enable Will Call to allow participants to pre-register online and pay at check-in. This encourages them to download the app and complete setup before event day.


πŸ§ͺ Choose Test / Small Event (Up to 10 Participants) if:

  • You want to test the app before your real event

  • You are hosting a small private event

  • You need a free version with no licensing fees

Limitations:

  • Maximum 10 participants

  • One hand per participant (10 hands total)

  • No configurable pricing options

  • No processing fees

We recommend setting the event to Private with a password to prevent unintended registrations.


βš™οΈ Sales & Event Item Settings Explained

The options available depend on which sales method you choose.


🧾 Fees per Hand

This is the base price for each hand sold.

  • Required for In-App and In-Person events

  • In In-Person mode, this is informational only (not charged online)


πŸƒ Offer Extra Card Option

Allows participants to purchase an additional card.

If enabled:

  • You must set an Extra Card Fee

  • Available for both In-App and In-Person events (subject to event format limits)


πŸ’΅ Extra Card Fee

Required if Extra Cards are enabled.

Enter the price participants will pay for each extra card.


⏱ Allow Purchase After Registration

Controls when extra cards can be purchased:

  • βœ… ON: Participants can purchase extra cards until the third card is dealt

  • β›” OFF: Extra cards must be purchased during initial registration


🏷 Allow Will-Call Sales

Allows participants to register online without paying and complete payment at check-in.

This helps:

  • Reduce lines

  • Encourage early app downloads

  • Improve event-day efficiency

You can also set:

  • Will Call Pickup Instructions

  • Will Call Sales Cutoff Date & Time

Will Call is available in both In-App and In-Person modes.


πŸ‘₯ Set the Total Number of Hands Each Participant Can Buy

Limits how many hands a single participant may purchase.

  • Range: 1–20 hands

  • Default: 20

Caps the total number of hands available across all participants.

If enabled:

  • You must enter a total quantity

  • Sales will stop once the limit is reached


πŸ’³ Absorb Stripe Processing Fees (In-App Only)

Controls who pays Stripe’s standard processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).

  • βœ… OFF (Default): Participants pay Stripe fees at checkout

  • βœ… ON: Your organization absorbs Stripe fees from collected funds
