🔁 Opening & Closing Event Registration
You can close and reopen event registration at any time.
As an event organizer, you control when participants are allowed to register. Closing registration stops new sign-ups (including Will Call reservations), and reopening it allows additional participants to join.
📍 Where to Find It
To open or close registration:
Manage Events → Select Event → Tap “More Event Options” → Choose “Close Registration” or “Open Registration”
You’ll be prompted to confirm before changes are applied.
🚫 What Happens When You Close Registration?
When registration is closed:
No new participants can register
The Register button is removed from the event page
Will Call reservations are no longer available
The event remains visible (unless also hidden from search)
Current participants still have full access
This includes all sales methods:
In-App Sales
Will Call
In-Person registration (if registration is required in-app)
This is helpful when:
Your event is full
You’ve reached a hand limit
You’re approaching start time
You need to finalize logistics
🔄 What Happens When You Reopen Registration?
When you reopen registration:
The event becomes active for new participants
The Register button returns
Will Call (if enabled in Sales settings) becomes available again
New hands can be purchased (if In-App sales are enabled)
This is useful for:
Allowing overflow registrations
Reopening temporarily paused signups
Handling last-minute participants
⚠️ Important Note About Will Call
Closing registration does not cancel existing Will Call reservations.
Participants who already selected Will Call are still expected to complete payment according to the organizer’s instructions and deadline.
If you need to prevent additional Will Call activity but allow paid registrations, adjust your Sales & Event Items settings instead of closing registration entirely.
