Prizes, Winners & Payouts
Aces Poker Run is a logistics and event management platform designed to make organizing a poker run simple, efficient, and fair.
While the app handles registrations, card dealing, rankings, and event tracking, prizes, winnings, and payouts are not handled within the app.
This article explains why β and what that means for organizers and participants.
π― What the App Does
Aces Poker Run provides:
π΄ Automated card dealing (QR, GPS, or timed release)
π Real-time leaderboard rankings
π§Ύ Registration and hand management
π³ Secure payment processing (via Stripe)
π Reporting and transaction tracking
The Leaderboard ranks hands automatically using standard poker hand rankings, making it easy for organizers to determine:
1st place
Runner-ups
Special hand categories (if applicable)
Once the leaderboard is finalized, organizers determine winners and distribute prizes outside of the app.
βοΈ Why We Do Not Handle Prizes or Winnings
Laws governing poker runs, raffles, sweepstakes, charity events, and fundraising competitions vary significantly:
State to state (U.S.)
Province to province (Canada)
Country to country (UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc.)
These laws may regulate:
Cash prize distribution
Percentage-based payouts
Raffle drawings
Games of chance
Charitable gaming compliance
Licensing requirements
Because these regulations vary by jurisdiction, Aces Poker Run does not:
Distribute prize money
Pay winners
Hold funds for prize pools
Act as a gaming operator
Determine prize structures
As outlined in our Terms of Service
Aces Poker Run App Terms of Serβ¦
, event organizers are solely responsible for ensuring their event complies with applicable laws and for fulfilling all event-related commitments, including prizes.
π If Your Event Offers Prizes
If your event awards:
π΅ Cash prizes
π Merchandise
π Trophies
π Raffle items
π₯ Gift cards
π Fundraiser awards
Those prizes must be:
Managed by the event organizer
Distributed directly by the organizer
Paid outside of the Aces Poker Run platform
Organizers are responsible for:
Determining eligibility
Verifying winners
Collecting required documentation
Distributing any funds or merchandise
Ensuring compliance with local laws
π³ What About Funds Collected Through the App?
When hands are sold online:
Stripe processes payments
Funds are deposited directly into the organizerβs Stripe account
Aces never holds prize pools or participant winnings
As explained in our Terms of Service

, we do not collect, hold, or distribute event funds beyond our service licensing fee.
