Assigning Unassigned Registrations

How to assign hands that were created without being tied to a participant — using QR scan or search from the Assign Registrations screen.

Written by Aces Help

When hands are created for your event without being immediately assigned to a participant — such as hands sold in bulk, hands from cancelled mobile deliveries, or hands created in advance — the Assign Registrations screen lets you link them to the correct participant on event day.

This is different from creating a new hand. Assign Registrations works with hands that already exist in your event but aren't yet tied to anyone.

📍 Where to Find It

Manage Events → Select Event → Assign Registrations

🔗 How to Assign a Hand

From the Assign Registrations screen, select the unassigned hand you want to assign, then choose how to link it to a participant:

✅ Option 1: QR Code Scan

Use this when the participant has the Aces Poker Run app installed and is present with you.

  1. Select the unassigned hand

  2. Tap Scan QR Code

  3. Scan the participant's User QR Code from their app

  4. The hand is immediately linked to their account

Use this when you know who the hand belongs to and want to assign it directly.

  1. Select the unassigned hand

  2. Use the search field to find the participant by name

  3. Select the correct participant from the results

  4. Confirm the assignment

↔️ Assign Registrations vs. Create & Assign Hands

Use this when...

Feature

You need to create a new hand and assign it to someone (e.g., cash sale at the door)

Manage Hand (Create & Assign)

A hand already exists in the event but hasn't been assigned to a participant yet

💡 Tips

  • QR scan is the fastest and most reliable method when the participant is present

  • Search is useful when assigning hands ahead of time or when participants haven't arrived yet

  • Once assigned, the hand appears in the participant's account immediately and they can begin collecting cards
